Will Porcelain Veneers Hide Empty Spaces between Your Teeth?

At Ascend Dental Studio, near Henderson, NV, Dr. Timothy Luong uses porcelain veneers to improve how her patients’ smiles look and function. She offers two different types of veneers to make sure that all her patients can be eligible for them. Minimal prep veneers allow those with weakened or eroded tooth enamel to be a candidate for veneers, too. These no-prep veneers require little to no tooth preparation at all, which means less tooth sensitivity after treatment. If you’re interested in learning more about porcelain veneers to fill gaps, schedule a consultation with our cosmetic dentist.

How do veneers work?

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are bonded directly to the front of the teeth. They can instantly improve a smile and function. Dr. Timothy Luong uses them during a smile makeover near Henderson, NV to fix several cosmetic smile concerns, including:

• Broken, cracked, or chipped teeth
• Crowded and overlapping teeth
• Crooked teeth (as an alternative to Invisalign®)
• Discoloration, stains, or yellowing
• Spaces or gaps
• Uneven alignment

Veneers give patients the opportunity to have a straight and white smile. They can help protect the surface of damaged teeth and eliminate any need for more extensive dental procedures in the future at Ascend Dental Studio.

Difference between porcelain veneers and minimal prep veneers

Minimal prep veneers offer some of the same benefits that regular veneers do. The main difference is they don’t require any tooth preparation, which means that more of the natural tooth structure is preserved. An ideal candidate for minimal prep veneers is a patient in Henderson, NV with enough remaining tooth surface to bond veneers to.

Getting veneers in Henderson

During your first visit to the dental office, Dr. Timothy Luong will prepare your teeth by removing a thin amount of tooth enamel. This is an important step as it ensures that your veneers will sit evenly on the surface of your teeth.

Digital impressions will be taken of each patient’s teeth and sent to a dental lab. Temporary veneers will be placed on the teeth until the permanent restorations are ready. When they are, you will return to our office near Henderson, and we will remove your temporaries and adhere to your high-quality porcelain veneers. We will schedule a follow-up appointment about two weeks later to make sure that your veneers fit best.

Caring for veneers

Whether you choose veneers or minimal prep veneers at Ascend Dental Studio, they won’t last forever. This means you must care for your teeth efficiently at home for your results to remain for a long time. Regular brushing and flossing help remove plaque and leftover food to reduce your chance of developing tooth decay or periodontal disease. Regular dental exams and routine dental cleanings with Dr. Timothy Luong will let you know when you need a replacement. The better you care for your teeth, the longer your results will last.
